I spy items all the time that end up making perfect components for gift sets. This is a perfect example. I thought it would be really wonderful as a end of year Teacher Gift set for someone that appreciates a vintage vibe. The set includes a 1957 Winston Dictionary, 2 vintage student chalkboards/lap desks, a new Blackwing Pearl Pencil with the most adorable Schnauzer pencil topper. All tied up with a bow & ready to present with a heartfelt handwritten note. The set incudes: 1 - The Winston Dictionary for Children Shorter Edition is Copyright 1957 by The John C. Winston Company. It appears to be focused on late elementary aged students. There are at least one small black & white illustration on each set of pages. The cover is a light green cloth with a fountain pen image on the front. There is a cool Appendix at the back with Tables of Weights, Measures & Standards. The pages are in really nice condition. The only writing in the book is DO NOT REMOVE FROM THIS ROOM written in ink across the top of the front cover. (I thought a teacher would appreciate this sentiment!) The cover has edge wear & a stain on the back. The front & binding look great. Measures - 6 1/4" x 8 3/4" x 1 3/4" 2 - A set of 2 vintage student chalkboards - hard to find in useable shape. They are in great, vintage shape. A few stray chalk marks on the surface but the edges are still in great shape & there is no “personalization” that would take away from their character. Some of the edges have darker marks. Both have CURTIS in black marker written on the back. Measures - 11 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches 3 - Adorable Schnauzer dog pencil topper that will sit on your pencil end to keep you company while you write! It has nice detail for the breed. There are the faintest of white spots on his back. Measures approximately 2" long x 1.5" tall. Hole measures: 1/4" wide, Fits a standard pencil. 4 - Brand new, unused Blackwing Pearl pencil to host the Schnauzer topper. Measures 8" long Sold as a set of 4.
