Plate 6923: Chinese Flowering Chestnut or Yellowhorn Tree (Xanthoceras Sorbifolia), Curtis Botanical Magazine. Original antique hand-colored lithograph published by L. Reeve & Co. in London, 1887. Matilda Smith was the artist, J.N. Fitch was the lithographer, & it was printed by Vincent, Brooks, Day & Son. It was then water colored by hand at the time of publication over 100 years ago. It is an original hand-colored antique print, not a modern reproduction. As with all larger Curtis plates, it was a fold-out as issued & therefore has an original horizontal fold line. It has since been maintained open & flat & the original fold is not significantly noticeable. Original informational text sheet included with purchase. Dimensions: Approx. 9" x 11-1/4" (sheet size) Condition: Very good. It is clean with wonderful original hand color It will be packaged in a sealed plastic sleeve on a backing & will ship within a rigid mailer for protection.
