It could be used for that still or it could be used to keep your desk organized or hold your sewing notions. The book is painted a bright red & it has a small clasp at the front to keep it closed. It measures app.: 14 1/4 inches/ 35, 5 cm in length 7 1/4 inches/ 18 cm in width 5 inches/ 12, 5 cm in height The box is in good vintage condition. The hinges work fine.
