Vintage Orlow Lyra pencil tin or metal pen case that is great to store office supplies in, & to use on your desk to keep your pens or small clips. I use mine to store pens in my handbag & color pencils when I travel. Also works great for sewing notions, crochet hooks & shorter knitting needles. The Lyra brand dates back to 1806 when Johann Froescheis began producing pencils in a factory in Nuremberg. in 1868, the symbol of LYRA was registered as a brand. The lyre is a musical instrument. Each tin measures app: Blue: 7 1/4 inches / 18 cm in length 2 1/4 inches / 5,5 cm in width 1/2 inch / 1,5 cm in thickness Yellow: 7 1/4 inches / 18 cm in length 2 3/4 inches / 7 cm in width 3/4 inches / 2 cm in thickness They are in good vintage condition. The tins are hinged & closes fine. They do have marks, inside & out, from use through the years. The yellow case has some unevenness to the front, maybe the paint is a bit melted.
