This 80s-does-1940s sleek pencil dress has just the right amount of whimsy to balance it out. It’s constructed of almost taffeta-like fabric in a chambray-like gray-blue hue with white polka dots. The padded-shoulder blouson bodice contrasts with the narrow lines of the skirt to create a slimming look. The white “blouse” underneath is actually a dickie that buttons separately before you button up the rest of the dress with large white cloth-covered buttons, as shown. The waist is partly elastic & accommodates a variety of sizes. The skirt gathers attractively where the elastic inserts are, & has hip pockets. The matching fabric-covered belt has a patent-leather-like shiny covered square buckle. Does have three small brownish yellow stains on & adjacent to bottom button. Belt backing is a bit creased, but it looks fine from the front.
