This set of 4 Victorian era dining side chairs features solid mahogany construction, stylized top rails with ornate floral carvings surrounding a hand hole, shaped back splat, cane seat, & incurved sabre legs supported with a box stretcher. The chairs are in excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age. There is minor wear on the wood frames. Three out of the four chairs have intact cane seats, but one chair seat needs re-caning. The chairs measure 32.5" tall, 18.25" wide, & 22" deep with a seat height of 17.75 inches. Provenance: From the Wedgwood estate, U.S. branch, a direct descendant of Josiah Wedgwood, the English potter who founded the china & earthenware company in 1759.
