The foot is 33" long & the top support board is 30" long. Height can be selected at checkout. Recommended assembly: We recommend pre-drilling 2 holes down through the top of the top board using a forstner bit (Just enough to sink a bolt head with washers). Then pre-drill 2 up through the bottom of the foot going up into the pedestal upright (These should be drilled about 2" deep). Next, measure & line the pedestals up & clamp them firmly. Use two, 4" lag bolts with a flat washer & locking washer & drive them through the top supports down into the pedestal using an impact drill with a socket attachment. Repeat up through the bottom of the foot using 6" lag bolts. What to expect with each finish: Unsanded: The pedestals will show bandsaw marks. This suits someone who wants to save money & sand them on their own. It also works well for a more rustic finish if you decide to leave the bandsaw blade marks & stain or wax them as is. Excess glue runoff will be sanded & cleaned up. Sanded to paint: Bandsaw blade marks will be cleaned up using 100 grit sandpaper. Sanded to stain: Bandsaw blade marks will be cleaned up using 100 grit sandpaper, then they will be sanded with a 220 grit sandpaper. Why is using our pedestals for your table a good idea?
