They complement the rustic nature of the wood & provide plenty of support. This dining table & benches are made with reclaimed timber, purchased from the local wood up-cycling business. We DO NOT use retired scaffold boards which are known to be problematic & unsustainably sourced. We only use the highest quality of timber that is certified to be sustainably sourced & sustainably grown. The benches are 44cm tall & depending on the depth of the table, they are 35-44cm deep. The table height is 74.5cm & made to order so the length & depth are fully customisable. The current example in the main is finished with a Natural Oak finish (first photo). The wood stain we use is water based as well as eco friendly. There are more colour variations such as the ones that can be seen in the samples photo. The table & bench(es) can also be painted or stained to your preferred colour if none of the above choices are suitable. Wood is a living, breathing material. It responds to its environment and, like all living things, it ages. Natural wood has characteristics which include knots, variations in grain & differences in colour. Drying the wood properly reduces splitting & warping but because wood is living, its moisture content will fluctuate based on the humidity of its surroundings & will cause some natural movement. Our products are thoughtfully designed, manufactured & finished with care, to allow for this natural movement of the wood. Any imperfections in solid wood reveal its age & history & the reclaimed planks that we use for our pieces may be faintly uneven & may cup or bow very marginally over time. These variations in the wood are to be expected & celebrated & we promise that they will not affect the functionality or structural integrity of the piece. in truth, these little imperfections enhance the unique character of the furniture which means that you can be certain that no other piece will be exactly like yours.
