Captivating original watercolor & pencil, probably fairly modern, of a woman in an elaborate gown & she is reading a little notebook. I suspect this is from the 1940s or 1950s. It is unsigned. Some of the pieces like this I find are either intended to be used in fashion magazines or fashion advertising, but for some reason I don’t think so in this case. The expression on her face is so wistful, & I don’t think this was done by a professionally trained graphic artist as the shoulders & neck are just a little “off”. The frame measures about 13" high & 10" wide & 1/2" deep, & the sight size inside the mat measures about 9 1/4" by 7 3/8". The piece is under glass, wired, & ready to hang. in good condition.
