Material: Eco polymer - Mineral Organic Material Based on Clay Zakohani (from Ukr. “закохані”, Eng “in love”) is a collection of clay lamps inspired by ancient Ukrainian traditions & crafts. It includes table lamps, sconces & chandeliers in three colours & sizes. On the territory of Ukraine, pottery has been known since the Neolithic period (VII-V millennium BC). Ukrainians have plastered their houses with clay; they ate from dishes made of clay, & whole generations of Ukrainian children played with clay toys. Today, clay symbolises remembrance of one’s roots, history & home. Why Zakohani (in love)? The shape of the lights resembles two figures gently clinging to each other. & even if such a figure is just by itself, it still loves. Because together or alone, they are still in love. Simple forms preserve the most profound meanings. Warm colours are echoes of the morning & the coveted evening. “When looking for a form for the first collection, I strived for simplicity & naturalness. & then I found a bent stone. You might think it was bent by some difficulties in life, some stormy river. But I decided that it bent itself to hug someone important & that’s how the second stone appeared. This is the highest manifestation of love strength & vulnerability,” says Alisa Tyramisova, a ClayP product designer. The clay products do not undergo the process of firing. They, therefore, allow interaction with the purest & most natural material, the symbol of the creation of all living things clay. All items are durable, environmentally friendly, & recyclable. They will be a great fit in private homes & restaurants, hotels, shops & other cultural & entertainment facilities. Zakohani.
