I made this piece with solid brass that I formed using a chop & band saw, then I ground, filed & sanded a swirly pattern into the surface. Then I polished it to a satin finish to bring out the glow of the metal. The brass is attached to pure, untreated sheeps wool felt. This wool hasn’t been dyed or chemically treated in any way unlike most felts. Material purity along with its gorgeous weight & sculptural presence would make this a beautiful housewarming or wedding gift as well as thoughtful addition to any modern tea or table service.
