This chair is made of walnut. The seat & headrest are curly & the rest is straight grained. The seat is one of the nicest pieces of figured walnut that we have seen in a while. There are a few small pieces of ebony for contrast. The chair is jointed up & then carved with spoke shaves, rasps, & sandpaper. The chair is gorgeousand it’s even more comfortable than it is beautiful. If you have a “bad back” this chair is for you. The finish is six coats of blends of polyurethane, oil & wax, all hand rubbed to a gorgeous sheen.
