The weathered wood top of this coffee table has been finished so smoothly & the piece put together so cleanly that it works well in almost any home decor. This table is constructed of aged, reclaimed barnwood that has been split & joined for the top while the joints are chamfered to create interest. The perimeter of the table has a narrow strip of barnwood to hide the cut-grain of the table top & to add another element of accent. A 3-1/2" skirt runs just under the table to hide the leg mounts. The legs are made of hardwood & are 3-1/2" square & are mounted with a lag screw - that is secure, but removable. The finish is a black milk paint that has been sanded back to clearly reveal the texture & age of the wood & then top-coated with an amber glaze. The table is designed to minimize shipping cost by allowing the legs to be unbolted for shipping & reassembled by the customer - just requiring that the 4 bolts be reattached. (Simple assembly instructions included).
