DRAGON NEEDLE FELTING KIT This Dragon Felting Kit will guide the experienced needle felter in crafting their own unique 12" long dragon entirely out of wool. You can choose a kit that makes either a red or blue dragon as described. This kit is a longer & more detailed project that is best done in several sittings. There is ample wool fiber in this kit to make one 12" dragon as described. Accent colors are provided to allow you to personalize it in any way that you imagine. Kit is 100% wool, no wires or beads to sew. If you would like to make wool sculptures without wire, this kit is for you! Needle Felting is a simple & forgiving process in which you can shape wool fiber into anything you can imagine by poking it with a single barbed needle. The more the fiber is needled, the more dense it becomes. It’s a magical process that can be addictive for some of us! A booklet suitable to keep on your shelf is included to guide you in sculpting your dragon. Step by step needle felting instructions guide you through the simple process of poking the wool with a barbed needle to make it stick together to form your unique dragon. You will learn how to make & join flat structures like wings as well as 3 dimensional parts & details such as eyes, all out of wool! Diagrams are included to gauge the size of the parts you make as well as the finished sculpture. Tips for new needle felters & other guidance learned from over 10 years of teaching the craft, is provided as well. Two felting needles, 38T & 38 Star, complete the package. Needles can be used for future projects as well. You will need to provide your own felting surface such as a sponge or small pillow or even an oven mitt can work in a pinch! You may choose to purchase a two-toned all wool felting pad at additional cost. My Wool Felting Pads last longer than foam & are a more environmentally friendly alternative & come with 2 additional needles. These instructions are merely a place to begin.
