Made in the 1960s most likely, maker unknown, in a regency or French provincial sort of style, these chairs seemed a bit unusual to me as they have a combination of ladderback style with caning over top of that, & the legs are a very elegant slim design without the ornate scroll at the bottom. The maker took the time to use the circular marks at the knee joints that you would find on authentic antique French furniture, resulting from the through-tenon construction. They have some lovely subtl details & very good quality. PRICE EACH This is a partial set I am splitting up & selling separately. The movers lost two chairs out of 6, & I have only 4 left at time of listing. One is an armchair, the others regular chairs without arms. The table was disassembled & stripped in prep for refinishing, a project that was never completed, so it will be posted for sale separately. Chair are structurally in good shape. I did notice a couple of puncture holes in the caning on the backs. The finish has some wear & tear around the edges, primarily around the top rail & finials. The seats were last recovered about 10 to 15 years ago & could use an update. They are stained/dusty/soiled. They unscrew from the underside, so you can easily recover them.
