This walnut extension dining table is the perfect table for hosting large groups even if you don’t really have room for a large table. With 2 leaves that can easily be added on to make the table longer when you need it, this table looks great & works well every day & on special occasions too. The core of the table is 36"wide x 72" long. The finished top is at 30" above the floor. This is a good size for 4-8 people. When you add the 18" leaves, one at each end, the table becomes 108" long which seats 10-12. Walnut is a hardwood which means that it won’t easily be damaged by using the table. We build our table tops using multiple planks which helps to create a stronger table than you would get from just one slab. This table is just over 1" thick. It has bevel edge on the underside. These chevron shaped legs are a style we call Caldwell. They have been finished to match the table. Both the top & the legs have been finished with an all-natural oil. We hand rub this oil into the wood. It adheres to the individual fibres, instead of just sitting on top, to create durable matte finish. This finish was originally developed for hardwood floors so it is strong enough to stand up to daily use. We typically finish walnut in a pure finish which allows the natural colors of the walnut to be the star.
