I have been getting a lot requests from my Etsy customers about making walnut tables for tight spaces, like bay windows, or nooks with two walls & a window, with only one possible way to have access to get in & out. I came up with a solution & it works! I do not like tables with a round base in the middle as it makes it uncomfortable to stretch your legs & also creates problems to push the chairs in. Having only three legs, instead of four fixed all my concerns. The side of the table that is closest to an aisle or access point, gets one leg in the middle as can be seen in the pictures. This concept creates tremendous amount of space to get in & out & also prevents you or the chairs running into legs. I also realize the usage in the future maybe different due to moving to different room, house, apartment, etc. To cover these scenarios, I have predrilled for four leg configuration so the table can easily be configured for conventional 4 legs usage. I also predrilled the center leg on both edges of the table so you can decide which grain orientation fits your space & taste. This listing is for a 36" x 22" top that is 1" thick. Legs are 29" tall, making the top surface 30" from the floor. All edges, top & bottom, are rounded over 3/8" dia. Corners are rounder to 6"dia The desk is made out of Walnut that is 1" thick (reduced from 1.25" thick). I do not use plywood or cheap hardwood from hardware stores. I buy all my wood from wood mills. The top & underside are finished with 4 coats of clear semi-gloss oil varnish. All four jet black legs included in the price. If you desire different color legs, please let me know & I will check availability. 1/2" thick legs hold hundreds of pounds of weight. A set of four 1/2" heavy-duty hairpin legs can easily hold over a thousand pounds! Leveling feet are included if you intend to use on hard surface, not needed on carpet.
