Antique French pochoir showing colorful spring fashions from Issue No. 3 of J.P. Joumard’s “Les Idèes Nouvelles de la Mode” published in Paris, 1929. The pochoir process was a labor intensive technique of producing prints using stencils to apply to the different colors by hand. The plates from “Les Idèes Nouvelles” were produced on Chinese paper that was tipped-in against a light card stock. The hand pochoir color is dramatic against the light brown paper. It is an original pochoir, not a modern reproduction. Size: Approx. 9-3/4" x 12-1/2" (sheet size) Condition: Very good. It will be packaged in a sealed plastic sleeve on a backing & will ship within a rigid mailer for protection.
