Fabulous color change spinel & diamond ballerina ring, estimated from the 1970’s - 1980’s, that holds a central purple-blue-reddish (depending on the light) stone surrounded by a stylized halo of baguette & round brilliant diamonds. The crown measures approximately 13.6 mm north to south & 14 mm east to west when measuring from furthest point to furthest point. It rises approximately 7.3 mm from the finger to the top of the spinel. The crown is washed in white gold & the rest of the crown & the shank is crafted in yellow gold. The shank is smooth & polished & tapers slightly to measure 2.1 mm at the back. Inside the shank is stamped “14KP” & an illegible symbol which is most likely the makers mark. Note: the letter “P” after 14K stands for “PLUMB” which means “exactly” 14K. An independent GIA Graduate Gemologist has performed an appraisal & a copy will be included with your purchase! Here are the specific findings: Ladies 14 karat yellow gold, change of color spinel & diamond ring. The ring contains one center faceted round change of color spinel, set with four prongs, with measurements of 5.74 - 5.69 x 3.63 mm. & has an estimated weight of .95 ct. The spinel has a bluish lavender color in flourescent light & light reddish-purple color in incandescent light. The spinel has good proportions & polish with very good clarity. The ring also contains twenty-one side diamonds, prong set, described as; 12 graduated tapered baguette cut diamonds with estimated weights from .04 to .02 ct. each. 9 side round brilliant cut diamonds with average estimated weights of .03 ct. each. Total side diamond weight for this ring is .57 ct. The diamonds have an average quality of VS2 to SI clarity & G color, with good proportions & polish.
