Werger states, “the people are seen in casual activities which dominate their daily routines, often preoccupied or oblivious to their situations. They are often observed from an elevated point so that the environment lays out in front of the viewer. The viewer becomes an omniscient voyeur, privy to the world below, yet curiously removed from it. As a cinematic device, this abstract angle allows for an overview of the scene as well as an introduction to the characters within the environment. The actions of the characters are intended to suggest a narrative which requires the participation of the viewer to be resolved.” He is a member of the American Print Alliance, Southern Graphics Council, MidAmerica Print Council, College Art Association, Florida Printmakers, Los Angeles Printmaking Society, Middle Georgia Art Association, Vermont Art Association, & Boston Printmakers. Werger has works in the collections of The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; Boston Public Library, MA; Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA; Brooklyn Museum, NY; Philadelphia Museum of Art, PA; Trenton Museum, NJ; Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, MA; among others.
