Dating from the 3rd Quarter 19th century, this piece is American, & features a gilt incised cabinet with ebony & burl walnut trim & decoration throughout. The case has raised rectangular display pedestal with incurved sloping sides, central drawer with burl panels within molded panels flanked by engaged incised half columns, above the conforming case with ebonized molded edge above the gilt incised frieze fitted with a central drawer, above a hinged door with large “Turtle Top Burled & Gold incised panel withing a molded surround bordered by raised incised & burled decorated subsidiary panels, flanked by freestanding columns with acanthus carved capitals & bases. The side panels similarly decorated. The case is additionally enhanced by conforming columns at the case corners, along with recessed incised burl panels with molded edges.
