This beautiful Busiere print of a mother & daughter was skillfully done by accomplished London printer (H Carling) & publisher (H C Dickins) in November 1923 using the English Mezzotint method for printing. Done on heavy paper that feels like - & has the weight of - card stock. It has an oval shaped impression that indicates membership in the printsellers association. It is pencil signed by the artist, L Busiere (Louis Busiere, French, 1880 - 1960). Inscriptions run along the bottom of the print, shown in photos. There are some minor condition issues, which would not be visible when framed. At the top, it looks like someone had possibly taped it on to something, & so some of the paper was affected when the tape was removed. On the back, I have one photo of one corner where the paper has some speckling (there’s probably an art term I don’t know), but it does not show through to the front. Overall, there are some general signs of age in terms of borders & color/tone, given age of close to 100 years. I am proud of the items I sell, & strive to provide accurate detail in both pictures & words. My goal is to make your buying experience positive, & as streamlined as possible. I hope you will love the item you receive as much as I loved it when I found it - they are all things that found a place in my vintage loving heart.
