The Chattanooga Choo Choo was named so by a local newspaperman, but didn’t become famous until 1941 when the song was first introduced by the Glenn Miller Orchestra. The station later became a popular destination for travelers. Today it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places . This is an unused pencil sharpener souvenir from around the 1950’s from the station. It is made from a heavy metal & has ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’ embossed on one side & ‘Made in Japan’ embossed on the bottom. It measures 2 x 3/4 inches & is 1-1/2 inches tall.
